Six stylometric measurements over your whole archive, each oriented so that a high number is the more machine-like end — so Lexicon 6 does not mean plain words, it means the opposite: barely narrow at all, a vocabulary in the widest few per cent. Every number carries the word for the end it sits at, so you never have to invert the scale in your head.
A number on its own is a thin thing to hand someone: two people who both land on 43 have nothing in common except 43. So the reading is a pair, the way a chart is — which line runs furthest toward the machine, and which furthest toward the animal. Six lines give thirty ordered pairs, each with its own name, and with seven bands that is 210 distinct readings rather than seven. The pair is about the shape of your own hand, not the absolute numbers: someone at 12 and someone at 88 can both be Switchboards.
The composite is a percentile of a percentile, and that is deliberate. Averaging six roughly independent percentiles is the central limit theorem applied to your own dial — the mean piles up near 50, and measured across the pool it did exactly that: 80% of accounts fell in two of the seven bands, and Wholly Pan and The Loom were reached by nobody at all. So the mean goes back through the same treatment the axes got, against the pool's distribution of means. Every band is now reachable, and each band's width is honestly its share of the population.
The reference pool is the membership of a curated mutual-follow cluster — a Bluesky list — measured exactly the same way as you are: full repository, same code, same fixed budgets. A percentile against a differently-computed population would be a lie with a number attached.
It is still a bias, and here is the shape of it. This is one community on Bluesky, not Bluesky: a cluster of people who follow each other, which means it shares interests, register and vocabulary far more than a random sample would. Read the dial as "compared to this crowd."
What it is not is circular. An earlier pool was built from the accounts the seed handle replies to — selected, in other words, for being conversational — so everyone measured against it read as more broadcast-y than they were, and Chorus was biased by construction. A mutual-follow cluster carries no such selection, so that spoke now means what it says.
